Documents Needed for New PA Resident Registration
- Your out-of-state title (if financed, contact us and we can request your title from the lienholder)
- Proof of insurance
- Picture or tracing of your VIN# (usually in the dash or on the doorjamb) or bring your vehicle with you
- Trucks and trailers (picture of unladen and GVWR weight is also needed)
- Current PA issued driver’s license or PA issued ID card
You must obtain a new PA driver’s license or PA ID card within 30 days of establishing a PA residency and before doing any title or registration paperwork.
Apply in person at a PA driver’s licensing center. You'll need ID, proof of residency, your Social Security card and your out-of-state license.

You must apply for new PA title and registration within 20 days of establishing PA residency. Our office can process this paperwork for you online with PennDot instantly. You'll leave our office with a new license plate and registration.
The current cost to obtain new PA registration, license plate, and title for a passenger car from our office is $235. This fee may be lower or higher depending on what type of vehicle you are registering and / or a lien fee is required.
